Tomorrow’s Fred Mascherino’s birthday, but today the internet’s music news sources are being flooded with Terrible Things! The change of pace song, “Conspiracy,” was initially posted on Alter The Press! last night. Even earlier, Mainstream Killed The Indie Star posted a questionable tracklisting for the self-titled album, due out August 31st. The only reason why I say “questionable” is because on that list of songs, I don’t see “The Arsonist’s Wife.” That’s a song Terrible Things have been performing live (as their closing song)… and frankly, it’s been my favorite since I saw them as Initials at The Note in January. I thought it was called, “It’s You” for quite some time, until I heard/read in a few interviews that it’s a song Josh Eppard helped shape, and eventually heard them introduce it on the Anberlin & Story of the Year tour stop at The Chance in Poughkeepsie. Maybe it’s a hidden song? oooh, that’s a wonderful thought!
Today a stream of “Conspiracy” (not to be confused with Josh Eppard’s Weerd Science song, “Conspiracy Theories w/Out Mel Gibson) can be, as Terrible Things said on twitter, “can be found all over the web.” aKt has found it on LushBeat, The Sound Alarm, The Punk Site, AbsolutePunk, Alternative Press, They Will Rock You, Chicks With Guns, Ragged Mag, Driven Far Off, Paste Punk, Under The Gun Review, Review, Rinse, Repeat, Substream Music Press, Latest Music Headlines, Property of Zack… Phew, that’s a lot. The only one I can think of that hasn’t posted it is the classic, PunkNews.org. You don’t have to go to any of those places to hear it though, we’ve got the streaming widget right here!
Alter The Press! is my favorite place for music news. I got far too excited when I saw that they are streaming the 6th song off Terrible Things’ debut, which comes out August 31st. I’ve been counting down the days until I get to see them at the premier upstate NY venue, Woodstock’s Bearsville Theater, on August 28th, with the first band Josh Eppard ever played/wrote in, 3. That is, without a doubt, my most anticipated concert of the summer!
Alter The Press! is especially cool because they posted about Neeshland Presents: Butterflies and Butcher Knives Vol. 1 back in February (and they’re based in the UK!).

Speaking of which, I’m solidifying the tracklisting for Vol. 2. Who would you like to hear on the compilation?
Lets call me a musician. I’d like to call myself one. Not an easy thing to actually say, especially when you aspire to whatever you call great. The following list of, individual people inspire me so much, its, depressing? How can anything I do measure up? And if I do, will I ever acknowledge it?…
